ANYWAY, I've been listening to 3 mixtapes this week, all from R&B artists, and I'm blown away by Sean Garrett's. "The Inkwell" features cameos by Jazy-Z, Gucci, Nicki Minaj, Soulja Boy, and more, and includes the hit "Feel Love" ft. Drake. All of the music is original and written by Sean Garrett, aka "the pen." You learn on the 1st track in a collage of snippets, most of our favorite hit hip-hop songs have been written by him, hence the nickname. He's the new, better version of Ne-yo (writter turned singer) in my opinion. He can rap and sing, and has the lyrics to do so. Plus, i love the music he writes; he has tight beats, some r&b, others bangers. I think it's safe to say he's multi-dimentional. I was disappointed by Trey Songz' mixtape "LetMeHolDatBeat" as well as Chris Brown's "In My Zone 2." Trey didn't impress me with his original songs or any of the lyrics on the mixtape songs. And, although I'm #teamchrisbrown, he didn't impress me either with his sequal to last February's "In My Zone" which I loved. So, this is a completely unbiased, female opinion. =) Boys, feel free to put your 2 cents in as usual! =P
Finally a female on here!!
